Exfoliating Sugar Scrub Cubes

These exfoliating sugar scrub cubes are not only super easy to make, but you most likely already have everything you need to make them lying around the house. And just look at them, they are so pretty.

Choose a bar of soap with a scent and/or color you like or use one without a scent and add essential oils. I like to use citrus or lavender in my scrubs with a white unscented soap. I use a giant square silicone ice cube tray, but you can use any cute shaped silicone tray you like - hearts or seasonal/holiday shapes are for fun gifts. I break my giant cubes up into what I call “organic square chunks” because I like the look, but you do you. You can put them in a little clear bag with a nice ribbon or put them in a jar and give them away. I like putting them in a jar so they can be displayed in my bathroom on a shelf and so they are easy to grab and if I'm giving them away I think a jar makes the gift a little bit nicer. I use coconut oil, but you can use whatever oil you prefer to moisten your skin (olive oil, grape seed, avocado….) This recipe makes enough for two small to medium sized jars.

Things you’ll need:

Double boiler

Silicone ice cube tray

Jar

Ingredients:

½ C Soap

¼ C Coconut Oil

¾ C Granulated Sugar

Essential Oil (optional)

Instructions:

Set up your double boiler then using a cheese grader, grade your bar of soap into your heat safe bowl and add the coconut oil. Stir until soap is completely melted. Let cool down for just a few minutes then add the sugar and whichever scent essential oil you choose and mix (It should feel like wet sand). Then scoop into silicone tray and pack down. Place the tray into your freezer for twenty minutes or until they are easy to pop out of your tray.

Put the cubes into a jar and display in your bathroom until you are ready to shower or wrap up as a gift and give away. These exfoliating cubes will not disappoint leaving you with super soft and glowing skin ready to take on the summer….
