Pizza Dough- so easy and sooo delicious

Updated: Jul 7, 2020

Homemade pizza is one of those things you can't beat. With this dough recipe our pizza is ALWAYS better than any restaurants dine-in or take out we've had. For one - this dough is amazingly easy and second, if you make your own pizza you can do any topping combination you want and as many as you want, there's no having to choose off of a menu or having to agree with your partner which one to order.

This dough is almost too easy and you don't have to knead the dough or even plan too far in advance. You mix your ingredients and let the dough rise for about three hours and your ready to start rolling out your dough!

I have a larger family, I have three siblings all with kids, when we get together there is a total of 15 of us, and one on the way! With this in mind, getting together for dinner can be a lot of work when cooking so we usually do something that is easy to make in larger quantities that the kids (some are picky eaters) will also gladly eat and what do you know? - pizza is the perfect choice! (plus I set up a kids table outside for the kids to make their own personal pizzas, which is fun and keeps them busy).

This dough is delicious itself, but to add the cherry on top I recommend after putting the pizzas together and before putting them in the oven to rub olive oil on the crust and sprinkle with flaky pink salt. It's the final touch and it makes all the difference.

Keep in mind these are not large pizzas, each dough mixture makes two pizzas. So you mix two doughs it will make four different pizzas which will feed 6-8 adults. For the kids you can divide one dough mixture into 5 personal size pizzas.

Ingredients:

12 oz beer

1 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp instant yeast

3 C all-purpose four

2 tsp salt

Directions:

In a medium size bowl, with a wooden spoon, mix together the dry ingredients then add the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Cover bowl in plastic wrap and set aside for 2-3 hours until it doubles in size and then you're ready to roll out your dough for your pizzas! (I told you it was easy).

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Oil two baking skeets and set aside.

To roll out the dough first divide the dough into two equal parts. Sprinkle flour on your work surface and cover your hands to prevent sticking.

I use my hands and just start working dough into the shape you desire (I do a square, it fits better on baking sheet). The dough should be about 1/4in thick. Carefully transfer dough onto oiled baking sheet.

Now the fun part: pick your sauces, cheeses and toppings to create the pizza of your dreams and when finished, place in preheated oven and bake 15-20 minutes or until crust is dark and crispy golden.

Topping ideas:

Sauces: tomato sauce, pesto, white alfredo sauce

Cheeses: fresh mozzarella balls or shredded, cheddar cheese, goat cheese, parmesan, burrata

Meat: Pepperoni, sausage, ham, pancetta, prosciutto, chicken, bacon

Veggies: Arugula, spinach, mushrooms, olives, onions (green/red/white), garlic, jalepenos, bell peppers, fresh herbs, tomatoes

Fruit: pineapple, pear, peach, apple
