Swirled Chocolate Brownies

I LOOOVE brownies and I especially like the crunchier edge pieces. If your like me you'll want to check out this pan I make my brownies in! Every brownie gets to have that outer crunchy edge on all four sides with a gooey center, what could be better!? Try adding peanut butter and eating them with a tall glass of cold milk. Now that you can’t beat!

Brownies are super easy to make and I’m sure most people have made homemade brownies before, but what makes these brownies so good is the toppings you swirl into the top. For this batch I swirled half of the brownies with peanut butter and the other half with Nutella, but you could also swirl in things like cream cheese or caramel or whatever your sweet tooth desires.

Ingredients

· 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons salted butter (melted)

· 1 cup granulated sugar

· 2 large eggs

· 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

· 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (melted)

· 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

· 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

· 1/2 teaspoon salt

· 1 cup milk chocolate chips

· peanut butter or topping of choice

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a metal 9x9 pan with parchment paper. Or if using individual small brownie pan - as I did - spray down with oil.

Pour melted butter into a large mixing bowl. By hand, whisk in until smooth about 30 seconds. Add in eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk 1 minute. Using a double boiler (or microwave) melt ½ cup chocolate chips and mix in until combined and smooth. Use a rubber spatula to stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Stir in whole chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan and smooth out. Then add spoonfuls of slightly melted* peanut butter and using a spoon lightly swirl into the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Let cool in pan 30 minutes before slicing.

*Depending on how thick your peanut butter or Nutella is after heating up you may want to add a little bit of butter to make it thinner and smoother
